Albion College is delighted to accept applications from students wishing to further their academic studies with us. We have a wide range of programmes and are very happy to advise on programmes which may be suitable for you. In most countries we have trusted agents who can help in giving advice on living and studying in the UK and will be pleased to advise you on the agent most convenient for you.

The UK offers students fantastic opportunities to study and to gain career enhancing qualifications and it is important that you should make an informed decision on the right college for you and the most appropriate course to follow. To come and study in the UK is one of the most important decisions you will make and it should be done with as much thought as possible. We strongly recommend that you research your decision as fully as possible. We can help you with this but also advise that you carry out your own independent research looking at different colleges and universities, and ensuring that you understand your responsibilities as an overseas student – we suggest that you look closely at the UK Border Agency Website which has a great deal of advice for students planning to study in the UK; http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk/

We try to make the application process as simple as possible. These are the steps to follow:

  1. Complete an application form. You can either complete the on-line application form or download the form, fill it in, scan and email it to us.
  2. We also need you to send us the following
    • a copy of your most recent academic qualification.
    • applicants from most countries will also require an English language qualification. The UKBA recognises IELTS, TOEFL,and Pearsons PTE as suitable evidence of English language ability
    • evidence of your ability to finance your studying and living costs in the UK. This could be in the form of three months bank statements from the person who will be responsible for financing your stay in the UK, together with an authorised letter confirming his or her intention to pay your tuition fees and living costs. To study in London, you ought to allow £ 800 per month for accommodation, travel, food, and other costs. Another type of financial evidence would be proof of income.
    • a copy of your passport.
  3. Once we have received these things, we will organise an interview with you. This is usually conducted through Skype. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about Albion College and other aspects of living and studying in the UK. It will also give us the chance to ensure that you have made a considered decision on joining Albion College and that you will be able to pursue your studies successfully.
  4. At this stage, if you decide that Albion is the right choice for you, and we feel that you will benefit from studying with us, then we will send you, by e-mail, a conditional offer. This offer will ask you to pay a deposit of 50% towards your first year tuition fees, and may also include other conditions in terms of language qualifications or passing other exams.
  5. Once conditions have been met, we will issue you with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies. This process is done online on the UKBA system, and a CAS number is then sent to you. This number can then be used to apply for a student visa.
  6. We are very happy to advise you with the visa application process. There are two main parts to the application. Firstly you need the CAS number from us, and secondly you need to show that you have sufficient funds in your bank account. This amount is £ 7,200 plus first year tuition fees remaining after the deposit has been paid. For example, if your total tuition fees for the first year are £ 7,500 and you have already paid a deposit of £ 3,750, the amount which needs to be in your bank account is £ 7,200 plus £ 3,750. This minimum amount must be in your account for at least 28 days before your application is made.
  7. As soon as you have received your visa, you must tell the college straight away and also tell us when you are intending to travel. We will then send you further information which will include advice on finding accommodation. We are happy to help you with accommodation and can also arrange for you to be collected from the airport.
  8. If your visa application is unsuccessful, your deposit will be returned less an administration fee of £ 200. We will need to see a copy of the visa refusal letter and also details of the bank account to which the refund should be made. You should allow four weeks for return of deposits. In cases where false documents are presented to us or to the UKBA, No Refund will be given.

All this may sound very complicated, but we will help you at every stage. You are making a big decision – one which will affect the rest of your life. We could tell you so many sad stories of students who have made the wrong choices or who have been badly advised, or in many cases, completely misled. We don't want this to happen to you.

We look forward very much to your application, and to welcoming you to our college.
