ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES
Albion College offers courses in General English for speakers of other languages, IELTS preparation classes and specialised language programmes, at levels ranging from Lower Intermediate to Advanced.
All courses cover the key areas of English usage: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students are continuously assessed to ensure that they are making satisfactory progress in extending and improving their English. A special emphasis is placed on developing reading and writing skills, as these are essential for students who want to realise their academic potential and go on to study at a UK university.
Albion College is a registered exam centre for City and Guilds International English for Speakers of Other Languages (IESOL) exams and International Spoken English for Speakers of Other Languages (ISESOL) exams. These are graded exams in General English and lead to qualifications which are accredited by the UK Qualification and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA). They are also benchmarked to the Council of Europe Common European Framework Reference for Languages (CEFR), and so are recognised throughout Europe. General English classes at Albion College are structured so that students can take the appropriate City and Guilds IESOL exam at the end of each term. Classes in General English are led by experienced and qualified teachers who understand the particular requirements of overseas students. The classes are friendly, but serious and focused on achieving positive learning outcomes.

In certain cases, English Language can be assessed by means of a Skype interview at which the students must confirm their identities by showing their passport combined with a sufficiently high mark in most recent academic transcripts, this mark will vary from one country to another.
