ADMISSION POLICY

All applications for admission to Albion College require the completion of the application form and payment of the deposit. The forms are available from the college or the website (www.albioncollege.com) and should be returned to the college. The majority of our students come from other countries and will have completed Year 10 at their previous school and will have an English Language level equivalent to 5.0 IELTS. Prospective students are assessed on the basis of their school transcripts and are interviewed – either at the college or through Skype. This enables us to further assess their academic and English Language ability. It also enables students to ask questions concerning the college and to get a full picture of living and studying in the UK, and more specifically at Albion College. Before issuing an acceptance, the college checks, as far as possible, the students’ financial ability to live and study in London by asking to see bank statements and/or proof of income of the person responsible for paying the pupil’s fees and living costs.

Pupils living in the UK are invited to the college with parents or guardians for an interview. They are given a tour of the college and introduced to all relevant staff available. Their application is also judged on the basis of their previous academic performance.

We ask for the following vital information, and inform the parents of the basic standards of behaviour and the attitude towards teaching and learning that the school expects and requires:

  • Name, home address and date of birth of each child
  • Starting date
  • Name, address, telephone numbers and emails of parents or guardians
  • Emergency telephone numbers of parents or guardians
  • Special Diets
  • Arrangements for collection of pupils with special needs that makes collection by an adult essential
  • Name, address and telephone number of the child’s doctor
  • Illness and inoculation details
  • Details of any allergies
  • Parental consent on emergency procedures.

Parents of guardians are also asked to provide the school with any further information which they feel will enable us to take that best possible care of their children.

We also inform students from overseas of their duties as international students to adhere to their student visa regulations. We stress our obligations to report to the UK Border Agency students who are consistently non-compliant with these regulations.
