London Centre of Marketing

The Organisation for Tourism and Hospitality Management

Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Hospitality Management

This programme is intended for graduates and diploma holders who wish to pursue a career in hospitality. It explores global, political, and social issues within the context of the hospitality industry, and also examines current trends, focusing on issues facing managers in terms of corporate strategy, marketing, financial control, and management organisation. It is a two year programme - one year of tuition and one year of paid work placement at a UK hotel.

The practical nature of the programme prepares students for the work placement period during which students can consolidate their learning in the hotel environment. Students complete the programme with a dissertation which should be on a particular aspect of the hospitality industry, and draw on experience gained during the work placement.

Modules are assessed by the Organisation for Tourism and Hospitality Management and successful students are given a guaranteed progression to Year Two of the BA (Hons) degree course in Tourism and Hospitality at South Bank University.

The Organisation for Tourism and Hospitality Management is a professional body servicing the tourism and hospitality industry throughout the world.
