| M+D MEDICAL FOUNDATION
PROGRAMME
While there is an increasing demand for doctors
and dentists to work in the UK, it is extremely
difficult to secure a place at a British Medical
School. The 1-year M+D Foundation Programme taught
at our college offers an attractive and unique
opportunity.
The programme helps students to acquire the
knowledge base and academic skills necessary to
study Medicine at degree level. It provides an
understanding of how the human body works through
the study of physiology, genetics and molecular
biology, cells and tissues, microbiology and chemistry.
Students will be given excellent advice on application
to medical and dental schools, such as UCAS application
form, personal statements, UKCAT and interview
preparation. Students on the M+D Foundation can
also benefit by gaining medical work experience
within a UK hospital.
Although excellent preparation for entry to
a UK medical or dental school will be given, a
place can not be guaranteed. However, successful
completion (65% or over + IELTS 6.5) of this programme
does secure progression onto the M+D Pre-Medical
programme in London. This programme has an excellent
record of securing students places at UK Medical
Schools. From 2011, the Pre-Medical Programme
will be incorporated into a two year intensive
degree programme in Medical Sciences. This gives
students a further opportunity of applying to
UK Medical and Dental Schools as graduates.
Graduates of the M+D Foundation and the M&D
Pre-Med Programmes may also have the exciting
opportunity to study medicine or dentistry abroad
at Cardinal Herrera University in Valencia, Charles
University in Prague, Cormenius University in
Bratislava, or the Medical University of Gdansk
in Poland.

College:
Further information can be found on the official
M+D website, on: www.mdfoundation.com
Students who already have relevant qualifications
may only need to complete certain modules of the
M+D Foundation, such as Psychology and Advanced
English and Communication, which they require
in addition, to apply to Medical School.
For those with insufficient language skills,
the M+D Foundation Programme is combined with
English language tuition and IELTS preparation
classes.
There are two intakes a year, one in September
and the other in January.
