| MEDICAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME
While there is an increasing demand for doctors
and dentists to work in the UK, it is extremely
difficult to secure a place at a British Medical
School. The 1-year M&D Foundation Programme
taught at our college offers an attractive alternative.
Students will be given excellent advice on application
to medical and dental schools, such as UCAS application
form, personal statements, UKCAT and interview
preparation.
The programme helps students to acquire the
knowledge base and academic skills necessary
to study Medicine at degree level. It provides
an understanding of how the human body works
through the study of physiology, genetics and
molecular biology, cells and tissues, microbiology
and chemistry.
Although excellent preparation for entry to
a UK medical or dental school will be given, a
place can not be guaranteed. However, successful
completion (60% or over + IELTS 6.5) of this programme
does secure progression onto the following courses:
- 6-Year Medical Degree Course at the
Medical
University of Gdansk, Poland.
This course is taught entirely in English and
recognized by the General Medical Council in
the UK.
- The M&D Pre-Med Programme at the University
of Sussex in Brighton. This programme has an
excellent record in securing students places
at UK Medical Schools. Successful students are
also given a confirm place at St. Matthews University
School of Medicine in the British Cayman Islands.
All students accepted onto the M&D Foundation
will be given an Official Letter of Conditional
Acceptance from the above institutions upon successful
application and enrolment.
Parts of the M&D Foundation Programme may
be completed by students that wish to apply directly
to St.
Matthew’s University
and require additional modules, such as Psychology
and Advanced English & Communication.
For those with insufficient language skills, the
M&D Foundation Programme is combined with
English language tuition and IELTS preparation
classes.
